To Whom it May Concern,
I am writing to apply for the Senior Director position for Minecraft Ecosystem Experiences and Services.
I have been keenly plugged in to the Minecraft community for over a decade, both from a community service and a
development position. I believe this experience makes me a good fit for this position, and my professional
programming experience gives me an edge on the technical side.
I have been working on an open source Minecraft mod for almost 15 years. It is a passion of
mine that I have devoted an enormous amount of my free time to. This experience has given me a lot of insight into
the drives and desires of Minecraft server owners as well as players.
Professionally, I have been in and out of the gaming industry twice in my career. I worked on some console games in the
PS2/PS3 era, and later worked on social games for Facebook and mobile. These experiences were great for me, and
gave me a lot of insight into how the game industry works.
In between those gaming dev careers I have gained a wide range of experience in web, UI and database technologies
that I can leverage for creating and maintaining toolsets and other backend systems.
I think I could be a great asset to Microsoft and Minecraft, it's something for which I have a long-standing
passion and it would be an honour to contribute to its future!
I currently live in Union, Washington. This would not necessarily be an easy commute long-term, but if I was able
to work remotely part of the time my family and I would consider relocation in the future.
Thank you for your consideration!
Sincerely,
Nathan Wolf
